Jatiya Press Club polls schedule changed

The schedule of the Jatiya Press Club election has been changed.

The decision was taken at an emergency meeting of the press club managing committee Wednesday, reports UNB.

As per the new schedule, the biennial election to the press club will be held on December 30. Voting will be held from 9:30am to 5pm with a one-hour break from 1pm.

The last date for submitting nomination papers is December 15 (10pm) while December 18 was set for scrutinising nomination papers and publishing the list of candidates.

The deadline for withdrawal of candidature is December 22 while the final candidate list will be published on December 23.

The meeting also decided that votes in the polls will be counted electronically.
