JCD calls half-day hartal in Faridpur today

FARIDPUR, Dec 12 (UNB): Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD), the student wing of BNP, called a half-day hartal in the district for Saturday protesting the arrest of its four leaders.

The shutdown that will begin at 6am and end at 12 noon was announced at a press conference in the district town in the afternoon.

On Thursday, police arrested four JCD leaders, including district unit president Benazir Ahmed Tabriz, from the Khabaspur intersection of the district town.

The arrest was made when the JCD men brought out a procession protesting a warrant issued by a court for the arrest of BNP senior vice-chairman Tarique Rahman.
