Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) observed a sit-in programme in front of the vice-chancellor's office of Dhaka University (DU) Thursday demanding realisation of a six-point demand including trial and punishment of the attackers on its leaders and activists.
The leaders and activists of the pro-BNP student organisation took stand in front of the VC’s office after a demonstration on the campus at noon as part of their pre-scheduled programme to drum up their demands.
Other demands of the organisation include ensuring co-existence of JCD leaders, activists and all general students on the campus and at the halls and stopping armed showdown and torture by Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) along with compensation for the students driven out of the halls by the BCL cadres.
The JCD leaders also demanded resignation of the DU VC for what they said his partiality for Awami League-backed BCL.
