The immigration authorities at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) arrested Habibur Rashid Habib, general secretary of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) central committee, moments before his departure abroad early Saturday, reports UNB.

Shah Alam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Airport Police Station, said immigration police at the airport arrested Habib at the time when he was to depart by a flight at about 3:00 am.

Later, he was handed over to Airport Police Station.

There was restriction about Habib's leaving the country, in connection with a case filed earlier, the OC added.
