JCD man stabbed to death in N'ganj

NARAYANGANJ, Mar 10 (UNB): An activist of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) was stabbed to death in Narayanganj's Chashara Balurmat area on Monday.

The deceased is Apurba aged 25.

Narayanganj Additional Police Superintendent (Crime and Operations) Tariq Al Mehedi said he was stabbed following a heated argument with Samrat, a local youth, after a torch procession organised by the city unit of JCD to protest rape and murder on Sunday night.

The procession which had started at the Masdair central Eidgah at 9:30 pm ended in front of the Narayanganj Press Club.

When the participants were heading home, Samrat stopped Apurba.

Witnesses said at one stage of altercation Samrat stabbed Apurba in the abdomen and he died from his injuries on the way to a local hospital.
