‘JCD to stand by quota protesters’

Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD), the student wing of BNP, has announced to stand by the general students, who are staging demonstrations across the country against the quota system in government jobs, to realise their demands, reports UNB.
Speaking at a press conference at the BNP's Nayapaltan central office in the capital on Tuesday, JCD president Rakibul Islam Rakib also strongly denounced the alleged attacks on anti-quota protesters by Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) on different university campuses, including Dhaka University.
He said July 15 will remain as a black day in Bangladesh's history.
"The Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal is promising to carry out its movement on the streets, always standing beside the protesters of the quota cancellation movement from today (Tuesday)," he said.
At the same time, the JCD president called upon the students to come forward to build a society based on the real spirit of the Liberation War, equality, human dignity and social justice by removing the current 'fascist and illegal' regime which is the main source of the discriminatory quota system.
