JL activist hacked to death in Noakhali

NOAKHALI, May 23 (BSS): A Jubo League (JL) activist was hacked to death Friday night by some unknown miscreants in Kabirhat area under Begumganj upazila of the district.

The victim was identified as Md Jahir Uddin (30), son of Md Nurul Amin of Tita Hajra village.

Locals said a gang of miscreants suddenly attacked Jahir with sharp weapons when he was gossiping with some friends at a tea stall in the area. The assailants left the scene leaving Jahir dead.

Later, locals rushed him to Gopalpur Union Health Complex where on duty doctor declared him dead.

Md Golam Faruk, officer-in-charge of Begumganj Model Thana, confirmed the incident.

The body was sent to Noakhali Abdul Malek Ukil Medical College Hospital for postmortem.
