JL activist shot in Laxmipur

LAXMIPUR, Apr 5 (UNB): A local Jubo League (JL) activist was shot and injured by miscreants in Kashipur area of Sadar upazila on Saturday night.

The victim was identified as Monir Hossain, son of Rafiq Ullah of the area and president of the Kashipur ward unit of the youth front of the ruling Awami League.

Police said a group of miscreants opened fire on Monir when he was returning home around 9:00 pm after taking tea at a local tea stall, leaving him critically injured.

Later he was admitted to Noakhali General Hospital.

Mohammad Humayun Kabir, officer-in-charge (OC) of Chandraganj thana confirmed the incident.
