A Dhaka court has sent Molla Jalal, former president of a faction of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ), to jail in a case lodged with the capital's Shahbagh Police Station over abduction and attempted rape of a singer, reports BSS.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Akhteruzzaman passed the order on Tuesday, scrapping Jalal's bail plea in the case.
Earlier police produced him before the court and pleaded to keep him behind the bars until the completion of probe.
Jalal was arrested from the capital's Segunbagicha area 12:00 noon in the case filed by the victim four days back under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act.
