Opposition Jatiya Party (JP) is preparing to start an agitation to protest abductions and killings, said Opposition Leader Rawshan Ershad Wednesday, reports bdnews24.com.
Asked about her party's role in the recent abduction and murder of seven people in Narayanganj, Rawshan said: "We formed a human chain there but I could not visit Narayanganj as I was sick."
"This is a sub-judice matter. The case is being investigated.
"The real perpetrators will certainly be identified. But a proper probe should be held," the opposition leader said.
On whether the opposition was satisfied with the government's action on recent issues, Rawshan said, "How can we be satisfied?"
She said her party's priority was peace.
Rawshan said it was the duty of the government to maintain law and order. The government would also have to be assisted as well, she said.
She said lack of employment had given rise to crimes.
BSS adds: Rawshan also said the JP would observe programmes on streets along with remaining vocal in parliament over the country's prevailing situation.
She said this in reply to a question at a press conference at the Jatiya Sangsad Media Center.
