A parliamentary watchdog Thursday recommended a quick end to problems relating to fund release for the projects financed by Bangladesh Climate Change Trust Fund (CCTF).
The parliamentary standing committee on water resources ministry also suggested taking up projects as per the 'financial capacity of funds' and asked the authority concerned to inform the trustee board in case of any change in the design of any project being run with the CCTF.
The committee made the recommendations at its 8th meeting with committee chairman Ramesh Chandra Sen in the chair.
Issues regarding projects undertaken by Water Development Board with CCTF and project for protecting Saghata Bazar and surrounding areas from erosion of the Jamuna River came up for discussion at the meeting.
The committee also discussed the Brahmaputra riverbank protection project at Dantbhanga union in Roumari upazila of Kurigram district.
It suggested expediting the work of the project undertaken to protect left banks of the Brahmaputra River in Gaibandha and Kurigram.
