JS body recommends appointing medical technicians in three hill districts

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs Ministry on Sunday recommended appointing medical technicians and necessary manpower in the clinic and hospitals in the

three hill districts, reports UNB.

It also suggested making the Rangamati Medical College functioning and improving the services at clinics and hospitals in the three hill districts.

The parliamentary watchdog came up with the suggestion in its 3rd meeting with its chairman Bir Bahadur Ushwe Sing, in the chair at the Parliament Bhaban.

The meeting also held elaborate discussions on the Secondary Education report and health services report of the three hill districts and the progress of the previous decision taken in its earlier meeting.

It also suggested taking necessary steps to upgrade the status of the chairmen of Khagrachari, Rangamati and Bandarban districts to deputy minister.

Meanwhile, it also recommended appointing teachers from the permanent inhabitants of the three hill districts through the Non-government Teachers' Registration and Certification Authority (NTRC) and to build schools and colleges as well as residential halls for students.
