The deadline for the submission of nomination papers to contest the elections to the 50 parliamentary reserved seats expired Sunday, reports UNB.
Earlier on February 23, the Election Commission announced the polls schedule for the reserved seats which are exclusively for women fixing the voting on March 29 and subsequently deferred the voting date to April 3.
According to the reschedule, the deadline for the submission of nomination papers is March 9, while that for the scrutiny of nomination papers March 11 and the last date for withdrawal of candidature March 18.
Out of the 50 seats, the ruling Awami League (AL)-led six-party alliance will contest 41 the polls in seats, while Jatiya Party in six seats and the coalition of independent candidates in three seats.
