JU BCL leader arrested

A leader of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) of Jahanginagar University (JU) was arrested from the city Sunday.

The arrestee BCL leader was identified as Mamun Kahan publication secretary of JU BCL unit and also a master's student of Urban and Regional planning department.

Badrul Alam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Asulia thana confirmed this.

Mamun had recently beaten Golam Main Uddin, chairman of the Urban and Regional Planning Department as he didn't allow Mamun to appear at the final exam.

Mamun also threatened two other teachers when they came to rescue Prof Uddin.

JU administration filed a case against Mamun with the Asulia thana. JU authority also declared him as persona-non-grata at the campus.
