Juba Dal activist killed in Ishwardi

PABNA, Jan 28: A Jubo Dal activist was stabbed to death by Jubo Leaque men in Ishwardi municipality area of Pabna Monday night.

Five others were also injured in an attack

The victim was identified as Jahngir Alam (27), an activist of Jatiyatabadi Juba Dal Ishwardi poura unit.

Locals and eyewitnesses said a group of Juba League activists numbering about 15-20 attacked the Juba Dal activists with sharp weapons while they were talking about their organisational activities at a laundry shop on the College Road of the upazila headquarters at about 9:00pm.

Critically injured Jahangir Alam in the attack was immediately sent to the Rajshahi Medical College Hospital and on the way he succumbed to his injuries at about 10pm.

Amanullah alias Buru ( 40), Nayan Hossain (32) and Sumon (30) sustained injuries in the attack.

Md Fazlur Rahman, secretary of Iswardi BNP poura unit, claimed Juba League men attacked Juba Dal men as a sequel to political enmity and demanded exemplary punishment to the culprits.
