A Dhaka court on Sunday set October 12 to pronounce judgement in an arms case against expelled Jubo Mohila League leader Shamima Nur Papia and her husband Mofizur Rahman Sumon, reports BSS.
Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge KM Imrul Qayes set the date as both the prosecution and defence concluded their closing arguments and rebuttal in the case on Sunday.
"We think the prosecution has been able to prove the case against them beyond any reasonable doubt and the court would sentence them life imprisonment," Dhaka Metropolitan Public Prosecutor Abdullah Abu said.
Defence counsel AFM Golam Fattah however, said the accused couple would be acquitted in the case as the prosecution has failed to prove the charges framed against them.
