The judiciary will work independently without interference from any quarter and ensure justice for the people.
Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Secretary General Khondoker Delwar Hossain expressed the hope while talking to journalists at his NAM apartment in the city Tuesday, reports UNB.
The constitution envisages that three organs of the state -- legislative, judiciary and executive -- will function in coordination, keeping mutual respect for each other, the BNP secretary general said.
Delwar made the remarks on the eve of separation of the judiciary from the executive control on November 1 as well as of the recent discontent among some administrative cadre officers.
Replying to a question about BNP's unity, he said the party remains united and if dissidents want to return, they will have to follow its constitution.
Asked if the BNP will make any proposal to sit with the caretaker government in line with Awami League, Delwar said he has not yet received any letter from the Election Commission for dialogue.
He said after receiving the letter and seeing the agenda of the dialogue, the BNP will take decision whether or not they would seek discussions with the government.
Earlier, about 500 leaders and workers of Jatiyatabadi Juba Dal (South), led by its president Alamgir Hossain met Delwar outside his apartment.
Central Juba Dal General Secretary and former lawmaker Moazzem Hossain Alal and Juba Dal leader Chowdhury Khokon were present.
