July 15 set for submission of further probe report

A Dhaka court has set July 15 for the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to submit its further investigation report in the murder of Inqilab Mancha spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi., reports BSS.
Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Jashita Islam passed the order as the investigation agency failed to submit the report on Sunday.
On January 15, 2026, the court directed the CID to conduct further investigation into the murder as the complainant expressed dissatisfaction with the probe and filed a naraji petition against the charge sheet submitted by the Detective Branch (DB) of police, seeking further investigation.
Inspector Foysal Ahmed of the DB submitted the charge sheet on January 6 against 17 accused, including alleged shooter Foysal Karim Masud and his parents-Humayun Kabir and Hashi Begum.
According to the case statement, Foysal Karim Masud and Alamgir Hossain opened fire on Hadi when he was travelling in a battery-run auto-rickshaw on December 12, 2025, before fleeing the scene.
Inqilab Mancha Member Secretary Abdullah Al Zaber filed the case with Paltan Model Police Station on December 14.
