KHULNA, July 20 (UNB): Khulna City Corporation (KCC) mayor Talukder Abdul Khaleque demanded arrest and exemplary punishment of those responsible for the killing of Jubo League leader and ward councillor Shaheed Iqbal Bithar.
"Many local politicians, including myself, businessmen and journalists are feeling a sense of insecurity following the killing of Bithar," said the Mayor.
Addressing a press conference at KCC Bhaban Sunday, the mayor said police should take necessary steps for ensuring security for all.
He regretted that the motive behind the Bithar killing was yet to be unearthed despite the passage of eight days of the incident.
