Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu said Saturday BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia would not get any concession over the issue of burning people to death in a planned way even by taking part in city corporation polls, reports BSS.
"Continuing movement despite taking part in city polls could not be acceptable," he said in reply to a question from journalists before joining a function for giving new electricity connections to 250 houses at Talbaria Shamukia Malithapara under Mirpur Upazia in Kushtia district. The minister said the razakars and arsonists would never be allowed to form government in the country. Peace would resume in country's politics only when the people involved in the planned killings through arson attacks would be tried in the same way the trial of the 1971 genocide is taking place, he added. He called upon all to reach a consensus so that the razaraks and arsonists cannot come to power in future eferring to a statement of Jatiya Party chief HM Ershad, the Information Minister said weighing Khdaleda Zia and Sheikh Hasina on the same scale would not be right. Doing that is tantamount to hiding Khaleda Zia's 'politics of arson' and the razakars and al-badars, he added.
Presided over by Talbaria Union Council Chairman Saidur Rahman Mithu, the function was also addressed by Mirpur Upazila chairman Azad Jahan, Kushtia Additional Police Super Sohel Reza, Kushtia Palli Bidyut Samity General Manager Mokhles Gani, district Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) president Golam Mohsin.
