Khaleda conspires to kill Sheikh Hasina: Quamrul

Dhaka City Awami League (AL) joint secretary and Food Minister Advocate Quamrul Islam alleged Friday that BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia has been conspiring to kill Prime Minister (PM) Sheikh Hasina, reports BSS.

"A few days back BNP leader Begum Khaleda Zia remarked that Sheikh Hasina would not get a chance to say La ilaha illah at the time of her departure.  Such a remark of her (Begum Zia's) proved that she has brewed up an evil design to kill Sheikh Hasina," the minister said.

Mr Islam brought this allegation while speaking as the chief guest at a discussion in the city.

Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote organised the discussion at Shilpakala Academy auditorium marking the 8th death anniversary of first elected and most popular mayor, so far, of Dhaka City Corporation Mohammad Hanif.

Vice-president of the Jote Dr Inamul Huq chaired the discussion. It was also addressed, among others, by Jote leader and popular actor ATM Shamsuzzaman, Dhaka City AL organising secretary Shahe Alam Murad, assistant secretary of AL sub-committee Advocate Balaram Poddar and Jote general secretary Arun Sarker Rana.
