Khaleda files bail plea with HC

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia on Tuesday filed a bail petition with the High Court in a case filed under the Special Powers Act over torching a covered van in Chauddagram upazila of Cumilla district in 2015, reports UNB.

Khaleda's lawyer Advocate Kaisar Kamal filed the petition with the concerned bench of the High Court on behalf of Khaleda.

The petition also sought cancellation of a Comilla court order that denied her bail plea in the case.

Earlier on September 13, Judge KM Shamsul Alam of the District and Session's Judge Court in Comilla denied her bail in the case.
