State Minister for Home Asaduzzaman Khan said Tuesday they are investigating BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia's involvement in instigating party workers to carry out subversive acts, reports UNB.
Asked about Inu's remarks about filing of a case against Khaldea for the deaths caused by violence unleashed during the programmes of the 20-party, the junior minister said, "We're investigating the matter".
"Those who killed people or instigated people to take part in killings are known as killers and cases have been filed against the killers," he told reporters at his office at the Secretariat.
He went on saying, "The Information Minister might have made the remarks after he came to know everything over the matter. We'll take necessary steps after investigation, if needed."
Replying to a question, whether the BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia has been confined, Asaduzzaman said, "I said it earlier and is saying again you she is not confined. If she wants to go home she can."
Asked whether the BNP chief could be arrested in this connection, the minister said, "The Home Ministry would consider filing a murder case against her. Anyone can be arrested in the murder case."
