Khaleda not getting justice: Khasru

July 04, 2018 00:00:00

BNP senior leader Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury alleged on Tuesday that BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia is not getting justice due to political vengeance against her, reports UNB.

Speaking as the chief guest at a programme organised by Bangladesh Youth Forum at the National Press Club protesting the attack on quota reform activists, the BNP standing committee member said country's people do not have any more hope to get justice from the judiciary.

"The country and its people have to fight together to get country's democracy back", he added.

While condemning the attack on quota reform activists, the BNP leader said, it is the duty of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to implement the decision she has given in parliament.

Terming the attack as barbaric and inhuman, Amir Khasru claimed that Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), who attacked the activists, should be titled "Criminal League" as they have done such things many times before.

"Country's quality of education has marked sharp fall already and is going through a phase of intellectual vacuum", he said adding that the attack on the students who are fighting for quota reform is not acceptable at all.

BNP Joint Secretary Khairul Kabir Khokon said, there is no accountability of the government in the country and Dhaka University is playing an inactive role about the attack.

In the programme chaired by Mehedi Hasan Polash, adviser of Bangladesh Youth Forum, Muhammad Saidur Rahman, president of Bangladesh Youth Forum, Jatiya Party (Kazi Zafar) presidium Member Ahsan Habib Lincoln, BNP Executive member Abu Naser Rahmatullah and Barrister Anwar Hossain also spoke among others.
