Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu Said Tuesday BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia is now paying a heavy price for her suicidal political strategy of boycotting the January-5 national election, reports UNB.
"The January-5 election was very crucial, but Khaleda boycotted it terming it illegal. The election was a struggle between a plot and the constitutional process. Those behind the plot had tried to install an illegal administration before the polls," he said.
Addressing a discussion, he further said, "Khaleda Zia didn't take preparation in the last five years for the election. Instead, she resorted to conspiracy and tried to skip polls. So, she is now paying dearly for her suicidal political decision."
Inu, also the president of Jatiya Samjtantrik Dal, made the remarks while addressing a discussion on the contemporary politics, organised by Bangabandhu Academy at Diploma Engineers Institute in the city.
Inu claimed that Khaleda Zia has already made herself minus from politics by resorting to a wrong strategy.
Referring to BNP senior leader Moudud Ahmed's recent book 'Bangladesh: Emergency and Aftermath: 2007-2008', launched on Saturday, the minister said his book has also proved that Khaleda has made a political blunder.
He, however, said, "Moudud Bhai (brother) writes well, but does bad politics."
