Khaleda returns after 13-day visit

Leader of the opposition in Parliament and BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia condemned Sunday's police firing on a pro-hartal procession in Jessore, leaving one person killed and demanded exemplary punishment to the persons responsible for it, reports UNB.
The BNP Sunday accorded a warm reception to party chairperson Khaleda Zia on her return home after a 13-day visit to Saudi Arabia and performing holy umrah, thanked the cross section of the people for according her mass reception at the airport.
A large number of leaders and workers of BNP and its front and associate organisations welcomed Khaleda Zia on the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport premises Sunday afternoon, presenting her with bouquets and chanting loud slogans.
She, however, expressed her regret for the difficulties caused to the city-dwellers because of the reception.
The opposition leader criticised the government for not allowing her party's senior leaders to enter into the airport to receive her, according to her press secretary Maruf Kamal Khan.
