Khaleda should be sued for instigating murder: Inu

Information Minister Hasanul Haque Inu, MP, said Tuesday if the Managing Director (MD) of WASA and the contractor can be sued for the death of child Zihad then why can't Khaleda Zia be sued for the killing of a sleeping bus passenger, reports BSS.

The minister was speaking as the chief guest at the annual general meeting of Crime Reporters' Association of Bangladesh (CRAB) at the Dhaka Reporters' Unity (DRU) Sagar-Runi auditorium.

Others who were present on the occasion included Inspector General of Police Hasan Mahmud Khondoker and Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Benzir Ahmed.

The minister said, "As the principal instigator of killing of the school teacher in Noakhali and for throwing petrol bombs on people, Khaleda Zia cannot shirk responsibility. Murder cases should be lodged against her."

The minister said if the police and media work together democracy becomes meaningful.

He further said, "If the media and police work together then the society will be crime-free and secure." Inu asked journalists to remain alert and identify the shortcomings of the administration and police.
