BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia will address her party's scheduled rally at Suhrawardy Udyan in the city tomorrow (Saturday), reports UNB.
BNP will arrange the rally at 2.00 pm to mark the civil-military 'uprising' that led to the release of then army chief Ziaur Rahman from captivity on November 7, 1975.
"The BNP chairperson will address the rally as the chief guest," party's joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi told a press briefing at the party's Nayapaltan central office Thursday.
He said their party has taken all-out preparations to make the rally a success. Rizvi said Khaleda Zia will also pay homage to party founder Ziaur Rahman by placing wreaths at 10am today ( Friday) in observance of the day.
Besides, he said, party flags will be hoisted at the party's Nayapaltan central office and BNP chairperson's Gulshan office in the early morning Friday apart from publishing supplements in national newspapers highlighting the 'significance' of November 7.
Meanwhile, BNP and its associate bodies have chalked out various programmes to observe the day in a befitting manner.
Khaleda in a message greeted the people of the country on the occasion.
