BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia would not get the chance to take part in the next general election in 2019, Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) President and Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu has said, report agencies.

He spoke over the next general election in Parliament on Saturday amidst BNP's allegation that there is a plot to keep Khaleda out of the election by involving her in cases.

"Ms Khaleda Zia's political future is finished. She would have to stand trial," Inu said.

"In the 2019 elections, democratic forces will fight democratic forces in that election.

"There is no chance for an obsolete force to fight that election. There would be no chance for terror-patron Khaleda Zia to take part in that election," he added.

The information minister, referred to as 'minister of Khaleda Zia affairs' by BNP leaders several times, also said in the general discussion on the proposed budget that no one 'backed by Razakars or army' would be in power in Bangladesh anymore.

"Khaleda Zia has taken herself away from the politics of development and become redundant," Inu said.

Meanwhile, hailing the proposed budge for the fiscal year 2015-2016, the Information Minister said on Saturday the present government under the leadership of Prime Minster Sheikh Hasina will soon announced a Taka seven lakh core national budget.

Mr Inu said this while taking part in the general discussion on the proposed budget for the fiscal 2015-2016 in the Jatiya Sangsad. The budget is agriculture, industries, women, poor and investment- friendly one, he added.

Inu was very critical of BNP Chairperson Begum Zia calling her 'fire-terrorist' and said people won't forgive her for all misdeeds including killing innocent people through arson and petrol bomb attacks.

He said Begum Zia is trying to save the identified war criminals in many ways but she would not be able to do it and she (Khaleda) must stay outside the politics ultimately.

The minister said: "Khaleda Zia may not be an alternative to Sheikh Hasina.  A general election will be held in 2019 where only democratic forces will vie and there will be no scope for any fire-terrorist to take part in the polls."

Meanwhile, Publicity and Publication Secretary of ruling Awami League (AL) Dr Hasan Mahmud urged the government to take necessary action against Khaleda Zia for patronising terrorism and militancy.

The ruling party leader aired the demand while addressing as the chief guest a discussion on 'successful budget of 2015-16 fiscal year and welfare of the country and the nation' at the National Press Club in the city on Saturday.

Dr Hasan Mahmud said BNP is patronising Jamaat and Jamaat is patronising militancy and terrorism in the world, so BNP chief is patronising terrorism and militancy by keeping Jammat with its 20-party alliance.

He said Khaleda Zia is involved in terrorism, anarchy and militancy in the country and also connected with global terrorism and militancy, adding that the country as well as world would become safe if necessary action is taken against her.

Janatar Protasha arranged the programme with its President MA Karim in the chair.

Terming the Human Rights Report by the United States one-sided, the former State Minister for Forest and Environment said the report did not focus more on the arson attacks in Bangladesh as a large number of people were brutally killed in those attacks that continued for long three months earlier this year.
