Disaster Management Minister Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya, Bir Bikram, said BNP created confusion among the people by not spelling out its agitation programmes after threatening to begin a movement against the government after Eid, reports BSS.

"They are confusing the people. Those who keep the nation going are confused," he said Sunday and urged everyone to carry on with their work.

Five days had passed since Eid-ul-Fitr was observed, but the BNP has not posted any plan for its proposed movement for early polls under a 'neutral body'.

Meanwhile, acting Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir left Dhaka Friday for treatment abroad.

But Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi told the press Saturday said the party's plans would be 'finalised' soon. Maya reminded BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia that it was the 3rd of August already after Eid but there was no sign of the movement yet, while a senior leader had left the country after issuing threats. "Tell me, what is this movement that you will launch?"

Meanwhile, Awami League (AL) Publicity and Publication Secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud urged Sunday BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia not to inspire the politics of killing by celebrating her fake birthday through cutting cake on the National Mourning Day on August 15.

"Please, don't inspire the politics of conspiracy and killing by celebrating your fake birthday on August 15," he called upon the BNP chairperson.

Hasan Mahmud, chairman of the parliamentary standing committee on environment and forests ministry, said this while speaking at a discussion organised by Nagorik Samaj on the occasion of the month-long mourning programme at VIP Lounge of Dhaka Reporters Unity with its president Chittaranjan Das in the chair.
