BNP chairperson's adviser and former chief whip of parliament Syed Wahidul Alam died at a city hospital on Sunday night. He was 73, reports UNB.
Alam, who had been receiving treatment for various diseases at Central Hospital at the capital's Dhanmondi, breathed his last around 08 pm, BNP chairperson's media wing member Sairul Kabir Khan told the news agency.
He is survived by two daughters--- Barrister Shakila Farjana and Barrister Aklima Farjana-and a host of relatives and admirers to mourn his demise.
BNP senior vice-chairman Tareq Rahman and its secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam expressed deep shock at his death.
In a condolence message, they prayed for salvation of the departed soul and expressed sympathy to the bereaved family members.
