Information Minister and president of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JASOD) Hasanul Haq Inu said on Saturday that Khaleda Zia's tears would not legitimise her for democracy, wash away the anguish of those who were burnt alive, reports BSS.
Ahead of the 45th founding anniversary of his party, JASOD, on October 31, the minister was speaking at a representatives' meeting of the party's Dhaka city unit.
Criticising the public crying of Khaleda Zia in the court on Thursday, Inu said that in the past BNP had tried to lobby for legitimisation for democracy now it was resorting to winning sympathy by crying in public.
He further said without disassociating from the war criminals and killers, without stopping the conspiracy to subvert the upcoming polls, completing the jail sentences for killing people, it was pointless to cry and gain public sympathy.
