Khandker Mahbub among pro-BNP lawyers sued

Some 250 pro-20-party lawyers, including Bar Council vice chairman and BNP chairperson's adviser Khandker Mahbub Hossain, have been sued on charges of obstructing law and attacking the car of Justice Farid Ahmed on the High Court (HC) premises Monday, reports UNB.
Eight of the named accused included Barrister Mahbub Uddin Khokon and advocates Zainul Abedin Farooque, Sanaullah, Tajul Islam, Advocate Oaman, Fahima Nasrin Munni and Rima Akhter.
Sub-inspector (SI) Mahbubul Alam, in-charge of Babupura police outpost under Shahbagh Police Station, filed the case against the lawyers Monday night for allegedly creating obstacles to law and order, judicial services, attempt to murder Justice Farid Ahmed and vandalising his car, obstructing on duty police, hurting police constable Mustafiz and security guard Alamgir during a series of clashes on the HC premises from 12:30-1:50pm.
