CHITTAGONG, Feb 7: Ruling party lawmaker MA Latif criticised on Saturday the role of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia and asked her to immediately stop inhuman activities in the name of movement.
"What sort of democracy you are trying to introduce in the country by burning the innocent transport workers, school children and common people with the help of party workers and supporters?" he asked.
He said that life of a man or woman is much more valuable than what she calls democracy.
"Those who firebomb the hungry people can do anything but think for the welfare of the nation and development of the country. Barring 1.5 million young students from sitting for their exams by calling hartal on the exam days cannot bring development for the country," he added.
He was addressing transport workers in the port area in the afternoon. Earlier, MA Latif MP, the lawmaker from Chittagong-11 (Patenga-Bandar) constituency led a motor-procession of the transport workers.
