President of Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) Oli Ahmad said that his party will not take part in the next general election under political party government, reports UNB.
The LDP will boycott the polls if the caretaker government system is not restored, he said addressing a discussion in the city Sunday.
Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Muktijuddher Projonmo held the discussion at National Press Club marking the 4th jail release day of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia and BNP's senior vice-chairman Tarique Rahman.
Addressing on the occasion, he said the flatterers in all the political parties are the main problem in our politics, because they are polluting the politics. BNP will be benefited if it gives due honour to the qualified people by shunning the flatterers.
"About 56 per cent businessmen are now controlling our politics and they are responsible for all the corruptions," said Oli.
