An Awami League (AL) senior leader has said BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia will have to face trail for amassing illegal wealth in different countries, including Saudi Arabia, reports BSS.
"Sending of a legal notice mentioning that Zia family has no illegal wealth abroad will not yield any result," he said.
AL publicity and publication secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud made the comments while addressing a human chain programme organised by Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote in front of the National Press Club in the city.
General Secretary of the organisation Arun Sarker Rana presided over the programme while AL leader Advocate Baloram Poddar, Manoranjan Ghoshal of Swadhin Bangla Betar and Bangabandhu Swadhinata Parishad leader Jakir Ahmed were present on the occasion, among others.
Former Environment and Forest Minister Hasan Mahmud said they (BNP) started hatching new conspiracies to impede the ongoing trial process against Khaleda Zia in graft cases.
