Legal notice seeks cancellation of presidential polls schedule

A legal notice was served to the authorities concerned, seeking cancellation of the schedule for presidential elections within 24 hours, reports UNB.

Supreme Court lawyer Advocate Yunus Ali Akand on Wednesday sent the notice by post to the Chief Election Commissioner (EC), Speaker, law secretary, cabinet secretary, secretary to the President's office, secretary to Prime Minister's Office and Election Commission secretary.

Mr Akand said a writ will be filed with the High Court if the authorities concerned do not take any actions to cancel or withdraw the election schedule for presidential elections within 24 hours.
