Locks on several building accesses and department doors of Dhaka University (DU) have been jammed with super glue during a strike called by pro-BNP student front Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD), reports bdnews24.com.
Members of the proctorial body managed to enter the buildings and the departments after breaking the locks found stuck at around 8:00 am Wednesday, Proctor Prof Amzad Ali said.
Super glue was poured over the locks of the gates at seven departments in Curzon Hall, offices of the deans of four faculties, mathematics department at the Kazi Motahar Hossain Bhaban, and the Central Library, he said.
He blamed the Chhatra Dal strikers for the act.
The proctor said no other problem was reported. "Examinations and classes were held as per schedule."
The JCD called the strike in all educational institutions for Wednesday and Thursday in protest against the 'killing and arrest' of its activists and 'crime, extortion and illegal occupancy by the pro-government student front, Bangladesh Chhatra League'.
