Stating that Prime Minister (PM) Sheikh Hasina is riding the tiger's back, BNP senior leader Mk Anwar warned Tuesday her of dire consequences if she does not get off the human eater's back right now, reports UNB.
"Look for ways to get off the tiger's back, or else, it won't spare you when it will become very hungry," he said.
MK Anwar, a BNP standing committee member, was addressing a discussion organised by Jatiyatabadi Samajik Sangskritik Sangstha at the Jatiya Press Club in memory of Nazrul Sangeet legend Firoza Begum.
Accusing the government of grabbing power, he reminded it that no one in the world history could hang onto power forever. "How long will you be able to stay in office through illegal means? Just think about your consequences."
0Addressing the programme, BNP joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said the government is implementing the evil designs of its foreign masters to annihilate the nationalist forces.
"This illegal regime won't be able to cling to power if we can come out on the streets foiling all plots and evil designs," he added.
Another report adds: BNP Dhaka city unit convener Mirza Abbas had a marathon meeting with the joint conveners and senior members of its convening committee Tuesday.
The meeting that began around 12.00 noon was held at BNP's Nayapaltan central office.
Meeting sources said the country's latest political situation, organisational activities, updates on formation of ward and thana committees under the city unit, party's next course of action and BNP senior leader Moudud Ahmed's 'controversial' book came up for discussions at the meeting.
