The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Wednesday fixed new date to quiz lawmaker Mahi B Chowdhury and his wife Ashfa Haque Lopa on money laundering allegation as the couple sought time to appear before it.
The commission in a notice asked the couple to be present at the ACC headquarters in the city's Segunbagicha on August 25, said ACC public relations official Pranab Kumar Bhattacharjee.
They have allegedly siphoned off money to the United States and accumulated wealth from unknown sources, according to ACC sources.
The ACC summoned the couple on August 04 to appear before the commission on the day but they requested for more time to face the anti-graft watchdog.
Mahi is the Secretary General of Bikalpa Dhara Bangladesh and son of former President AQM Badruddoza Chowdhury.
