NILPHAMARI, Jan 18 (UNB): The body of the main accused in the case filed for the attack on Asaduzzaman Noor's motorcade attack case was recovered from Polashbari Union Parishad area in Sadar Upazila Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Golam Rabbani (37), president of Polashbari Union unit of Jubo Dal.
Police said locals spotted Rabbani's body lying buried behind the union parishad building and informed police.
The body with the throat slit was sent to Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Some local activists of BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami attacked the motorcade of Asaduzzaman Noor, now Cultural Affairs Ministers, in Ramganj upazila on December 14 which triggered a clash between BNP-Jamaat men and Awami League activists, leaving nine people, including three Bangladesh Chhatra League activists, dead and 47 others injured.
