Mainul's arrest not related to politics, says Nasim

Awami League (AL) presidium member Mohammad Nasim said on Monday Barrister Mainul Hosein was arrested in the case for insulting a woman, and it has nothing to do with politics, reports BSS.
"Cases were filed against Mainul and he was arrested as per law. We have nothing to do here. But the way he behaved, insulted womenfolk, no civilised person can do that. We all should condemn that," he said.
Nasim made the comments while talking to newsmen after attending a view-exchange meeting between Buddhist community leaders and leaders of 14-party alliance at his Dhanmandi residence ahead of Prabarana Punima.
"We don't have anything more to say about election-time government after the recent statement of Prime Minister. The election will be held as per constitution. None can obstruct the polls," he added.
Samyabadi Dal general secretary Dilip Barua and Jatiya Samajtantrk Dal general secretary Shirin Akhter, among others, were present on the occasion.
Meanwhile, Shipping Minister Shajahan Khan said on Tuesday Dr Kamal Hossain has formed alliance with murderers and their 'Jatiya Oikya Front' is a hotchpotch coalition. The minister came up with the observation while addressing a grand rally of security guards cum office support staffs of Government Primary Schools in Central Shaheed Minar in the city.
