July Oikya in Chattogram has alleged that major political parties in Bangladesh are preventing Chief Advisor (CA) Muhammad Yunus from 'properly running the state', reports bdnews24.com.
The group organised a protest rally and gathering under the banner 'Against the Conspiracy to Destroy July Unity, Against Indian Hegemony' on Friday.
Following Friday prayers, the demonstration began in the courtyard of Andarkilla Shahi Jame Mosque and moved through the Cheragi Pahar intersection before concluding outside the Chattogram Press Club, where a brief rally was held.
Tawsif Imroj, the chief organiser of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement Chattogram city chapter, said: "Many are once again submitting to Indian domination, attempting to run Bangladesh on their prescription.
"We will fight anyone who supports India, even if they are Bangladeshi."
He added, "We entrusted this responsibility to a man on the blood of 1,400 martyrs, but we are not letting him do his job.
"The major parties are obstructing Muhammad Yunus for their own political interests."
Tawsif said, "To those who are desperate for power, know this: you are serving those who serve the Awami League. You still listen to those who listen to the Awami League, to Hasina.
"As long as July revolutionaries are alive, July cannot be destroyed."
Pledging to return to the streets whenever there is a conspiracy against the July Uprising, he said: "Just like 1990, 2024 will not be erased from history.
"The current conspiracy is to withhold the July Proclamation, to bring the Awami League back again. It is also a conspiracy to avoid justice for the July 'genocide' - to once more hand the country over to the Awami League."
Abrar Hasan Riyad, chief coordinator of July Oikya Chattogram, said: "Conspiracies are being orchestrated at home and abroad to systematically destroy the revolution built on the blood of two thousand martyrs.
