Mamoon, Lobi, Obaidul taken on fresh remand

Former BNP lawmaker Ali Asghar Lobi, Obaidul Qader of the Awami League and Tarique's business partner Giasuddin Al Mamoon were given to police remand when they were produced before the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court from the Central Jail in separate cases.
Magistrate M Salam granted three days remand for Lobi when investigating officer (IO) of Gulshan police station sought it for interrogation in a criminal case, reports UNB.
Zakaria Dipu, the plaintiff, has accused Lobi of trespass into his house, threat on his life and pilferage of valuables. 
Mamoon, a highly controversial businessman and close associate of BNP's Joint Secretary General Tarique Rahman, was granted five-day police remand in a criminal case.
Selim Prodhan filed the case with Gulshan police station on May 31 this year accusing Mamoon and his three associates of misappropriating Tk 85 million through forgery and cheating. His co-accused went into hiding.
Obaidul Qader was granted three days police remand for further investigation into his anti-state activities. He was taken into custody in March this year and the court had sent him to jail on detention under the Special Powers Act.
