On July 19, mason Babul Mia went looking for his son amid the violence surrounding the quota reform movement and was shot in the capital's Jatrabari. Now, one and a half months later, he has died at Dhaka's Combined Military Hospital, reports bdnews24.com.

"I went to take part in the Anti-discrimination Student Movement's protests on July 19," said his son Abu Taleb. "My father went to look for me at 8:30pm that night and was shot in front of the Lucky Community Centre in Shanir Akhra in the Jatrabari Thana. He was shot from behind."

Taleb says he was admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital that night. After the fall of the Awami League government, he was moved to the Pilkhana Hospital on August 18 and then to the CMH on August 22.
