Mansur Ali's 101st birthday observed in Pabna

PABNA, Jan 16 (BSS): The 101st birthday of former prime minister Muhammad Mansur Ali was observed in the town with enthusiasm on Tuesday.

A joyous procession organised by Shaheed M Mansur Ali College paraded different streets in the town on Tuesday morning.

The college authorities also organised a discussion meeting on his life at the college auditorium. Principal Md Abdus Samad chaired the discussion while Zila Parishad chairman Rezaul Rahim Lal was present as the chief guest.

Freedom fighter Rabiul Islam Rabi, journalist Abdul Motin Khan, HM Golam Mostofa Jalal and Maksuda Begum Khushi spokeat the discussion.

The college authorities also placed a floral wreath at his portrait in the town.

Muhammad Mansur Ali, a close associate of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, was killed in a Dhaka jail on November 03 in 1975.
