Many good things happening in B'desh:US congressman

United States Congressman Gary Ackerman said with the return of democracy in Bangladesh a large number of good things were happening in the country.
Ackerman (D-NY), Chairman of the House Sub-committee on the Middle East and South Asia and member of powerful Financial Services Committee, made the remarks when he received Bangladesh state minister and Ambassador to USA Akramul Qader in his office in the Capitol Hill Tuesday, reports UNB.
The Congressman also appreciated Bangladesh's position in the field of education and climate change.
He also appreciated Bangladesh's deletion from the watch list of United States Commission on International Religious Freedom.
The Congressman also expressed his hope that rules of law and human rights would prevail in Bangladesh and expressed his desire to see a fully functional parliament with the participation of all members of the parliament.
Ackerman, a long time supporter of Bangladesh, expressed his desire to visit Bangladesh in near future.
Ambassador Qader briefed the Congressman about government's activities over the year and shared government's vision for a digital Bangladesh, which would be free from poverty, corruption and militancy.
