National Human Rights' Commission (NHRC) Chairman Dr Mizanur Rahman Wednesday said there has been a marked fall in extra-judicial killing in the country though it has not come to an end, reports bdnews24.com.
"Extra-judicial killings have apparently decreased. We're working to bring the number to zero level", Dr Rahman said at a citizens' council at LGED auditorium in the city Wednesday.
The NHRC chairman said his organisation is in regular contact with the home ministry in this connection.
Dr Rahman, however, voiced concern over the incidents of disappearance as mentioned earlier by Ain O Salish Kendra executive director Advocate Sultana Kamal.
He said: "We've created such a society where everyone's rights is not protected."
Palli Karma Sahayak Foundation Chairman Quazi Kholiquzzaman Ahmad and Prof MM Akash were present at the council.
