Top leaders of Bangladesh Chattra League (BCL), the students' body of the ruling Awami League, slammed on Saturday the media for what they said undermining it saying they publish news with wrong information about it, reports UNB.
"Bangladesh Chattra League is Sheikh Hasina's strength. But, the organisation gets victimised sometimes by pen-terrorists only to weaken Sheikh Hasina," said BCL general secretary Siddique Nazmul Alam.
He said this at the inaugural session of a two-day council of BCL at historic Suhrawardy Udyan. Prime Minister and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina attended the session as the chief guest.
Nazmul also said, "We can see propaganda against BCL in our media.  Biswajit's killers didn't belong to our organisation, but the media identified them as BCL activists."
BCL President Badiuzzaman Sohag also alleged that their good activities are hardly carried by the media.
BCL senior vice president Joydeb Nandi also swiped at journalists saying some 'yellow journalists' always try to mislead the organisation.
