Member of 'Ansar Al Islam' held in city

Members of Anti-Terrorism Unit (ATU) of police arrested a member of banned militant outfit 'Ansar Al Islam' from Korail Adarshanagar in the city's Banani area on Monday.

The arrested was identified as Md Samshul Haque alias Eman (27) of Burirchar village in Barguna, said ATU Media and Awareness Wing police super Barrister Mahfuzul Alam Russel.

He said Eman along with other members of the organization were planning to carry out sabotage attacks on different places of the country.

A case was filed with Banani police station in this connection.
